Frequently asked questions
How many days do you need for England and Scotland?
Nine days is a good length for a first trip. This itinerary spends three nights in London, visits Windsor Castle, takes the train to Edinburgh, gives two days to the Highlands and the Isle of Skye, and ends in Glasgow. With less time, we would cut Skye rather than rush it.
What is the best time to visit England and Scotland?
April to September. These months give the longest days and the best weather in the Scottish Highlands, which matters on a route that includes the Isle of Skye. Outside this window the cities still work well, but Highland days are short.
Do Indians need a separate visa for the UK?
Yes. Indian travellers need a UK Standard Visitor visa for this trip, and it is separate from a Schengen visa. A Schengen visa does not let you enter the UK, so if you are combining the UK with Europe you will need both.
How long is the train from London to Edinburgh?
About four and a half hours. It is the simplest way to travel between the two cities on this route, and we recommend booking seats early so you can sit together, especially on a family trip.
Can this England and Scotland itinerary be customised?
Yes. It is a sample plan for couples and families at a luxury level. We can add royal or historic sights, spend longer in the Highlands, change the hotels or slow the pace. WhatsApp us on +91 79829 78745 with your dates and we will send a revised plan.
